Shattuckite is a very special copper silicate hydroxide mineral. It grows in the form of fibers, masses or needles.

The mineral was discovered in 1915 in Arizona in the Shattuck mine, after which it got its name.

It is distinguished by its bluish blue color, and often grows in combination with Malachite, Chrysocolla or Turquoise. It is one of the rarer minerals, but also desired by all crystal lovers.
