Hematite Quartz is created when particles of hematite are "introduced" into Quartz crystals. In contrast to classic Quartz crystals, which are transparent in color, these contain dark red to purple dots. 

This specimen contains a higher content of Hematite than its similar crystal, Lepidocrocite.
